Cyberpunk 2077 has become the first officially confirmed title to utilize NVIDIA DLSS on the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2, though the current gameplay footage doesn’t overtly reveal the upscaler’s presence.
Digital Foundry reported the confirmation in the latest episode of its weekly podcast, where the team stated that the Switch 2 version of the game will utilize a specialized version of DLSS that will be compatible with the system’s Tensor Core-enabled hardware.

Cyberpunk 2077 Uses NVIDIA DLSS on Nintendo Switch 2, Launching Day-One with the New Console
It will apparently be on in all four display modes available on the Switch 2, including docked Quality, docked Performance, handheld Quality, and handheld Performance. Still, it can still be difficult to detect whether DLSS is being used based on the released footage, as it would be a post-process movie of lower resolution than the original render, Digital Foundry reinforced. This makes it more tricky to identify the familiar DLSS visual fingerprints, but some clues were still discernible with a scrutinising eye.
CD Projekt RED also announced resolution targets and dynamic scaling information. All modes target 1080p resolution; the one exception is handheld Performance, which aims for 720p. Dynamic resolution scaling is in effect on all modes, with per-axis scaling beginning from 2x and scaling up. That means an effective resolution range of around 540p to 1080p for modes aimed at 1080p, and 360p to 720p for the handheld Performance mode.
Depending on the demands of the gameplay, this allows for smoother performance while maintaining visual quality. Cyberpunk 2077 will be released on Switch 2 on June 5, the same date the new console launches in most territories. The game is already out on several other platforms, including PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S, making its arrival on Switch 2 another major expansion for CD Projekt RED’s open-world RPG.
