Crystal Palace have reappointed Roy Hodgson as the manager of the first team until the end of the season. The 75-year-old managed the club between 2017 and 2021, before being [replaced by Patrick Vieira. ](https://technosports.co.in/crystal-palace-sack-patrick-vieira-12-game-run/)

However, in spite of having a bright start to his life with the club, he was sacked over their recent slump in performances. Hodgson’s return has now been officially announced by the club on their social media accounts and website.

“It is a privilege to be asked to return to the club, which has always meant so much to me, and to be given the important task of turning the team’s fortunes around,” Hodgson said in a statement. “Our sole objective now is to start winning matches, and to get the points necessary to ensure our Premier League status.

“Crystal Palace is known for its fighting spirit, and I have no doubt that all our supporters will fight with us, beginning with the visit of Leicester City a week Saturday.”

This will be the [24th job of the veteran’s career](https://twitter.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1638081500704034816?s=20), which began all the way back in 1976. He has decided to step out of retirement to help the Eagles survive in the Premier League. A long-term replacement is in the works for the club, and can be expected in the summer.
