Why Blissey Raids Are a Goldmine

This gentle yet surprisingly bulky Pokémon spawns with random Tera Types, creating an exciting challenge for trainers. What makes this event special? Blissey’s moveset includes Heal Pulse, which actually heals your Pokémon during battle—making it less threatening but potentially longer if you don’t bring the right counters.

Blissey’s Fatal Flaw: Defense Stats

Here’s the secret: Blissey’s physical Defense is notably poor compared to its Special Defense. While it boasts an enormous HP pool and sky-high Special Defense, its physical bulk is paper-thin. This means physical attackers completely dominate this raid.

Top 3 Counter Pokémon

1. Iron Hands (Best Overall)

This Paradox Pokémon is your MVP. Start with Belly Drum to maximize Attack, then unleash Drain Punch for massive damage while recovering HP. Iron Hands can boost its Attack stat and deal massive damage while sustaining itself.

Recommended Build:

  • Move: Belly Drum → Drain Punch → Close Combat
  • Item: Punching Glove
  • Tera Type: Fighting

2. Ursaluna (Versatile Beast)

Ursaluna with Flame Orb activates Guts ability, increasing Attack when burned. Pair this with Facade for doubled damage output. Use Belly Drum first, then watch Blissey’s HP evaporate.

Strategy:

  • Flame Orb triggers Guts
  • Belly Drum → Facade/Headlong Rush
  • Covers 5+ Tera Types effectively

3. Annihilape (Setup Specialist)

Annihilape uses Bulk Up early to survive longer and power its Rage Fist, which grows stronger as battle continues. Its Ghost/Fighting dual-type provides excellent coverage and immunity to Normal-type attacks.

Battle Strategy Tips

Do’s:

  • ✅ Bring physical attackers exclusively
  • ✅ Use setup moves (Belly Drum, Swords Dance) immediately
  • ✅ Check Tera Type before selecting your counter
  • ✅ Utilize official Pokémon Scarlet & Violet battle mechanics

Don’ts:

  • ❌ Don’t use special attackers—they’ll bounce off
  • ❌ Avoid lengthy battles; Blissey can heal itself
  • ❌ Don’t ignore the random Tera typing

Maximizing Rewards

With the Glimmering Charm (obtained by completing the Pokédex), you’ll receive bonus Tera Shards per raid. This event is the fastest way to farm specific Tera Types for your competitive team.

Pro Tip: Check out our Pokémon Scarlet & Violet Tera Type guide to learn which types benefit your team most.

FAQs

Q: Can I solo the Blissey 5-star Tera Raid?

Yes! Iron Hands and Ursaluna can both solo this raid effectively. Using proper strategy, it takes approximately 5-6 turns to defeat 6-Star Blissey solo with Iron Hands, and even faster for 5-star versions.

Q: What’s the best way to farm Tera Shards from this event?

Complete as many raids as possible during the event window and use the Glimmering Charm for bonus rewards. Since all Blissey raids are locked to 5-star difficulty, you receive ten extra shards per run with the Glimmering Charm. Focus on speed—Iron Hands with Belly Drum setup ends
