Cristiano Ronaldo was the saviour for Manchester United against Norwich City as they came away with a 3-2 victory. The Portugal international scored his 50th club hat-trick against the Canaries as they succumbed to a remarkable display from the five-time Ballon d’Or award winner.

Anthony Elanga provided the forward with his first goal of the afternoon, a simple tap in after he stole the ball in the penalty area. Ronaldo then scored a towering header from a corner taken by Alex Telles, as United surged ahead of the bottom placed team.

Cristiano Ronaldo saves Manchester United yet again with hat-trick

The 37-year-old scored a free-kick for his final goal, with the fiercely struck shot ending up in the back of the net despite being parried by Tim Krul. And as a result, Manchester United picked up three key points on the road thanks to their star forward.

Cristiano Ronaldo has had to endure a lot of criticism in recent weeks for his drop in form and lack of goals. But, the win and hat-trick against Norwich will provide the team with some optimism about the coming games as they remain contenders for a top four finish.

The Portugal captain has stepped up when his side has needed him, and much like the game against Tottenham, Ronaldo was there for United when they needed the goals here as well. David De Gea bailed out the team several times by making some incredible saves to deny the opposition, and ultimately help in winning the game.
