Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly been offered a return to Real Madrid by president Florentino Perez. The Portugal captain currently plays for Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia, but it’s likely that he will not retire at the club.
Former manager Rudi Garcia has mentioned that Ronaldo is likely to return to Europe after his spell in Saudi Arabia. He has a €200 million contract with them until 2024, and is likely to see it out.
Cristiano Ronaldo receives Real Madrid return option
The forward is arguably one of the biggest legends of Real Madrid, having left as their top scorer of all-time with 450 goals and 131 assists in 438 games. There were rumours linking him to a return to the Santiago Bernabeu this winter, but Perez blocked the move himself.
Now, he has offered Cristiano Ronaldo the option to return to the club in an ambassador role as part of their sports organisation chart. However, it seems unlikely that it will happen anytime soon given that he still wants to continue playing football. Since joining Al-Nassr, he has scored 11 goals in 14 games and is one of the top scorers in the league.
But, he now has the option to stay in football in an ambassador role at arguably the club where he shined the brightest.
