Cristiano Ronaldo has hit back at critics saying he is “finished” after his move to Saudi Arabia. The Portugal international had a bright start to life in Saudi Arabia last season, scoring 14 goals in 16 games even though Al Nassr were unable to win silverware.Â
His partnership with Sadio Mane has been quite fruitful this summer, with the veteran scoring nine goals in the league so far this season. Ronaldo’s side currently sit fifth in the table with 15 points from seven games so far.
Cristiano Ronaldo hits back at critics saying he is finishedÂ
“They say Ronaldo is done… but it’s not true. I will continue to play until my legs say: Cristiano, I’m done,” he said.
“I still have a lot. I still love football and scoring goals. I still love winning. They say I’m done but I’m still proving that it’s not true”.
Cristiano Ronaldo helped Al Nassr win the Arab Club Championship Cup this summer, and is now one of the leading contenders to win the Golden Boot this year.
Even though he wasn’t nominated in the Ballon d’or rankings for the first time since 2003 this year, he has been able to put up a consistent performance with 33 goals and seven assists in 38 games in 2023. After recently admitting that his rivalry with Lionel Messi is over, we are surely seeing the final chapter of the five time Ballon d’Or winner. But, he is still showing that he has a lot of time left in his legs.Â
