Cristiano Ronaldo has broken yet another record, this time becoming the player with the most assists in European Championship history.
The Portugal captain now has eight assists to his name at the tournament, after unselfishly and uncharacteristically, squaring the ball to Bruno Fernandes against Turkiye for their third goal.
He joins Karel Poborský of Czechia as the only other player to have eight assists at the Euros in the history of the competition. One more assist would allow the 39-year-old to claim the record for himself, adding to another incredible list of achievements in his career.

Ronaldo is already the top scorer in the history of the Euros with 14 goals to his name. He became the only player to feature in the tournament six times with his start against Czech Republic.
And while he hasn’t scored yet, one more goal from the veteran will let him become the oldest goalscorer at the Euros as well, helping him break yet another record in the 2024 edition.
Portugal have already qualified for the Round of 16, meaning Cristiano Ronaldo still has at least two games to earn himself the accolade, with his side favoured to make it deep into the tournament.
