Netflix’s newest YA sports drama just made a splash — literally. **Crew Girl**, which dropped its 8-episode debut season on September 10, 2026, follows outspoken teen Teagan Tao (Miku Martineau) as she muscles her way onto an all-boys rowing team as their **coxswain**. Fans are already asking: is Season 2 happening?

### What’s Crew Girl About?

After a family scandal uproots her life, rowing prodigy Teagan relocates to a new prep school with no girls’ rowing team. Determined to keep training, she joins the boys’ crew — sparking a messy love triangle with team captain Josh Regis (Samuel Braun) and quiet local boy Cam Dillinger (Kyle Clark). The [coxswain](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coxswain_(rowing)) role, a real and demanding position in competitive rowing, adds an authentic sports-drama edge to the teen romance.

### Will There Be a Season 2?

Nothing’s confirmed yet, but the signs are promising. Showrunner **Vivian Lin** said the series “has the potential to go on as long as it wants to,” pointing out that rowing careers naturally span years — and hinting at possible international spinoffs exploring rowing cultures beyond the US.

Executive producer **Jeff Norton**, who’s also behind Netflix hits *Geek Girl* and *Finding Her Edge*, echoed that optimism, noting both those shows scored renewals after strong viewership. He’s hopeful *Crew Girl* follows the same path — though he was careful to add “no guarantees.”

### The Season 1 Finale Left Things Wide Open

The finale ends on a cliffhanger: Josh, recovering from heart surgery, asks Teagan for a second chance — right before she kisses Cam. Meanwhile, “queen bee” Britney is assembling the school’s first-ever girls’ rowing team, teasing a shake-up in dynamics for Season 2.
