The PC version of the renowned professional shooter Counter Strike 2 is now available to the general public. The game’s developer, Valve, had restricted the beta testing to a small group of elite players, streamers, and content producers.

The Source 2 Engine from Valve is the foundation of Counter-Strike 2.

It includes some updates and enhancements, such as a physically-based depiction that is realistic. Dynamic smoke grenades will respond to explosions, gunfire, and lightning as well as the shifting surroundings. In addition to updated maps, new graphics, and improved gameplay, there is a new sub-tick rate. Global and regional leaderboards are also updated as part of the CS rating system.

Counter-Strike 2 is now freely available to download via Steam thanks to Valve. Notably, it is a free upgrade for all CS: GO players, and if users already own Counter-Strike 2, it will be converted to Counter-Strike 2 in their Steam library if they have it installed on their PC. Players can also transfer their CS: GO goods for free thanks to Valve.

Counter-Strike 2 is still available on Steam for free to new players. The 28GB download size is large. Intel Core i5 750 or above, 1GB or more video card (which should be DirectX 11 compliant), 8GB RAM, Windows 11, and 85GB of free disk space are the minimum PC requirements for running CS 2.
