Cosmic Byte Themis Mechanical Gaming Keyboard – Worth considering?

Design & Build
In terms of design, this Cosmic Byte Themis is a very compact keyboard with a length of just 39cm and in that the brand has crammed in 61 keys while maintaining a lightweight design. Though officially it’s been marked as 1kg in weight, however, for me it feels really light, can be lifted only with two fingers and as you see takes up very less space on your desk.
Though the frame is not made up of aluminium or any premium-grade material the solid plastic doesn’t feel cheap either. In making the keyboard cheap, this is quite expected and as long as it doesn’t harm performance, I personally don’t complain in terms of design as such.
The Indian brand has kept it simple with this Cosmic Byte Themis Themis Mechanical Gaming Keyboard and I like this way, also this keyboard is a wired one, but detachable. Yes, the braided cable USB cable with a Type-C port connects the keyboard in a flash and is adequately long, it can be connected to any device regardless of platform, another positive factor.
Typing
While I have tried multiple keyboards including mechanical and membrane, this one certainly is a quality one, you can just type once and you will understand. Featuring Outemu Blue Switches, the Cosmic Byte Themis is no doubt very tactile and clicky because its blue switches, obviously give you that typewriter feel.
Now, there is also a red switch variant also and those who don’t like much noise while typing can opt for that variant. Thanks to injection moulded double-shot color keycaps, the letters printed into the keyboard won’t erase soon even if you use it for years down the line, and here you have 61 keys, having around 60% size than regular keyboards.
Obviously, this is targeted towards gamers who want compact keyboards, that too mechanical ones, this Cosmic Byte Themis mechanical keyboard also supports simultaneous operation for all keys without any key ghosting effects and personally, I have tested this while using it, and it’s indeed true.
In terms of daily typing, which I do a lot considering my profession, I really enjoyed using it and to be honest, it exceeded my expectation. Considering how expensive mechanical keyboards I have tried and used them personally, this Cosmic Byte Themis for its price is indeed fantastic. The ergonomics, the tactileness of the keys will surely make you fall in love if you love typing or even if you are a casual user.
Gaming
Now, considering the gaming craze in India, a lot of people and enthusiasts do work as well as play daily, so, one will prefer a keyboard which solves the need of casual to serious gaming as well. Personally, I play a lot of racing, multiplayer shooter and FIFA games, for me, I loved using this Cosmic Byte Themis for my daily gaming crave.
However, as this is a compact keyboard, it did give some problem adapting to it because I have been used to full-size keyboards, but yes, having a compact design has its own benefits as well. You can type fast, reach to each keys faster and a lot more, now, in terms of gaming too where mostly few keys are required but they need to be very responsive.
So, in this regards I faced no issues in most games because most mechanical keyboards are anyways good for gaming needs.
RGB & Software
This is indeed the Per Key RGB Mechanical Gaming Keyboard and personally, I didn’t have much expectation in terms of RGB support but Comic Byte did defy me wrong. Its not like most cheap keyboards with cheap color patterns, but from the first Cosmic Byte is some of the very few brands that have offered dedicated software to customize RGB and other useful features even coming at such affordable prices.
In terms of RGB you have 8 modes by default which you can change directly from the keyboard but as you download the Comic Byte software typically made for this Cosmic Byte Themis Mechanical Gaming Keyboard from its product page, you can further customize it as per your needs.
You can even Macro list and set which keyboards as per your needs, I found this very useful by setting the arrow keys that could be used by Fn+Alt/Ctrl and other keys can permanently be set to normal arrow keys for work and play easily. Well, for this pricing you do have many mechanical keyboards but there is always a question of reliability, and performance, now, as you know, Cosmic Byte has already been in the Indian market for some time now, providing 1 year warranty along with the product does give buyer confidence.
Considering, how good and balanced this Cosmic Byte mechanical keyboard is, for this price I didn’t find much cons to actually point out apart from the lack of its premiumness in design or build but I will not complaint considering its price.
