Copa del Rey semi final: Real Madrid and Barcelona drawn together as another exciting El Clasico awaits

The Copa del Rey semi final stage is upon us and the draw has been made for the last four remaining teams. The semi final stage is the only stage where two-legged matches will take place. All four teams got to know their road ahead today as the draw was made by Luis Rubiales. New Spain coach, Luis de la Fuente also attended the draw.

Real Madrid and Barcelona drawn together as another exciting El Clasico awaits

Barcelona already got the better of Real Madrid this season as they won the Spanish Super Cup beating them in the finals. Barcelona will be hoping to achieve an El Clasico double by beating Los Blancos in the Copa del Rey semi final.

Real Madrid and Barcelona last faced each other in the Copa del Rey back in 2019 and the tie was won by the Catalans. Barcelona last won this competition in the 2020-21 season, while, Real Madrid won the competition in 2014. Carlo Ancelotti was in charge of Real Madrid as they beat Barcelona in the finals. He would be hoping to recreate that result once again as they would also want to take revenge for their Spanish Super Cup loss.

The football fans are in for another El Clasico treat. This match always promises to bring out the best of each team and let us witness one of the greatest rivalries of club football.

The first leg of the semi-final will be played on 1st or 2nd March and the second leg will be played on 4th, 5th or 6th April. The Copa del Rey final take place on 6th May 6 at La Cartuja.
