The Copa del Rey has always been a tournament of big disappointments. The lower league clubs often sprung surprises to the higher league clubs, which offers a spectacular tournament.

Already four La Liga clubs, Alaves, Getafe, Granada and Levante has been knocked out of the Copa del Rey 2021-22 tournament by lower league opposition.

  • Alcoyano vs Real Madrid
  • Linares Deportivo vs Barcelona
  • Atletico Baleares vs Celta Vigo
  • Valladolid vs Real Betis
  • Almeria vs Elche
  • Mirandes vs Rayo Vallecano
  • Cartagena vs Valencia
  • Sporting Gijon vs Villarreal
  • Eibar vs Mallorca
  • Fuenlabrada vs Cadiz
  • Leganes vs Real Sociedad
  • Girona vs Osasuna
  • Real Zaragoza vs Sevilla
  • Ponferradina vs Espanyol

The Copa del Rey matches will be played during 4-6 January. The matches will be held at the stadium of the lowest-seeded team from each fixture.

Barcelona are the current champions of the Copa del Rey as they beat Athletic Club by a 4-0 scoreline.
