The 2024 Copa America came to a conclusion this past weekend with Argentina winning the trophy for a second consecutive time. The individual awards were also handed out as part of the presentation ceremony.

Lautaro Martinez scored the winning goal in the final after coming off the bench to make it five goals in the tournament. The Inter Milan captain finished as the top scorer of the competition and picked up the Golden Boot Award before lifting the trophy with the rest of the team.
Best Player: James Rodriguez (Colombia)

James Rodriguez was perhaps the biggest revelation of this year’s Copa America. The former Real Madrid playmaker was back to his best, scoring one goal and providing six assists as his side made it to the finals. However, in spite of the Sao Paulo midfielder pulling the strings in the final, they just weren’t able to get the ball over the line.
Nevertheless, Rodriguez was deservingly named the player of the tournament in spite of the defeat in the final.

After Lionel Messi, Emiliano Martinez is without a doubt Argentina’s most important player. The Aston Villa goalkeeper won them the 2022 World Cup on penalties, and also played a crucial part in helping the team keep a clean sheet in the final as they won the trophy for a second consecutive time.
