Chelsea have asked Conor Gallagher to return to London, with his move to Atletico Madrid stalled for the time being. The midfielder has been in Madrid for the last five days, and has also been training with the Spanish side.
However, his move is currently stalled owing to a late complication. Samu Omorodion was expected to move to Chelsea from Atletico, but the move has collapsed and Gallagher’s transfer has not been confirmed as of yet either.

The 24-year-old’s flight back to London is booked, and he likely won’t return to Spain till the situation is sorted out. Atletico Madrid have offered Joao Felix to Chelsea, but the Blues want to complete the Portugal international’s acquisition as part of a separate deal.
As a result, the situation is complicated, especially since Gallagher represents pure profit for Chelsea as an academy graduate. Lowering his final transfer fee on the books will surely have an impact on the club’s finances if Felix is included in the same deal.
