Conor Gallagher will have a personal discussion with Thomas Tuchel ahead of the preseason to discuss his role in the team. The midfielder spent the 21-22 season on loan at Crystal Palace, and enjoyed a highly impressive season with the Eagles under Patrick Vieira.
He will be returning to Chelsea in a month, and might be a part of their squad for the upcoming season. There are strong chances for him to be included in the Chelsea first team, but it hasn’t been confirmed as of yet.
Conor Gallagher has chance to break into the Chelsea first team
The 21-year-old is admired by Thomas Tuchel, who has said that he will give the player a chance to win him over. He scored 8 goals and provided three assists for Crystal Palace during his loan spell, and has shown that he is ready for the Premier League.
N’Golo Kante and Mateo Kovacic struggled with several injuries this past season. And Ruben Loftus-Cheek wasn’t able to get things going in his favour for the majority of the year, before being given a run of chances. The arrival of a dynamic talent like Conor Gallagher would spice up the midfield for Tuchel.
He is not only well-versed defensively, but can also score goals going forward. Considering the lack of goals scored from Chelsea’s midfield, it makes perfect sense for them to finally give their academy product a run in the first team.
