Common Issues with Online Sports Betting

We are blessed with a huge selection of online sportsbooks and things have improved dramatically in the United States following the changes in regulation. The Supreme Court struck down a 1992 federal law in May 2018 that previously banned sports betting in the majority of states. That means each state is now responsible for the legalization and regulation of online sports betting and we have seen the introduction of many of the world’s leading online sports betting brands.

Some sports betting brands were already available in the United States thanks to real money fantasy sports but despite the great success of online sports betting, there are still some common issues to address.

Using the FanDuel app as an example, some of the issues online gamblers have faced are highlighted on GambleIndiana.com. One of the major issues for many people is the fact the FanDuel app is simply not available in some states. This is not only a problem for those wanting to access the FanDuel app but also other sports betting apps in the country. As mentioned above, the legalization and regulation of online sports betting is now the responsibility of each state and some have either been slow to react or have made the decision not to go ahead with legalizing sports betting. At the time of writing, FanDuel is available in Indiana, New Jersey, Colorado, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Tennessee, Michigan, Iowa, and Illinois. So, if you were trying to access the app in Florida, you would run into issues because the FanDuel app is not legally available in the state.

One of the most common issues faced by those wanting to enjoy online sports betting is difficulty getting the app to load. This could be due to the location issues discussed above but if you are sure you reside in a state where this is not a problem, it may be time to update the application. All good online sportsbooks are continually working to offer a better service and to do that, they need to update the app from time to time. If you do not accept the updates when requested, this can lead to problems when trying to enter the app or place a sports bet. You may find some of the features are not available and if that is the case, try updating the app.

It is impossible to bet online without having a sound internet connection. if you find you are struggling to move from one betting market to the next or the app is slow when refreshing the page when betting live, this could simply be an internet connection issue. Try browsing the Internet to see if you are connected before attempting to enter an online sports betting app. You do not want to be involved with in-play betting, trying to cash out, only for the internet coverage to be poor.

Finally, always ensure you are following the terms and conditions of the online sportsbook. If you break the terms and conditions, even unknowingly, this can lead to restrictions on your account.
