Cole Palmer has been named the Premier League Young Player of the Year 23/24, after a thrilling debut season with Chelsea. The recently turned 22-year-old has scored 22 goals and provided 10 assists in the league, and is tied for the most goal contributions at 32 with Erling Haaland and Ollie Watkins.

The former Manchester City attacking midfielder won the award ahead of former teammates Erling Haaland and Phil Foden, as well as Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka. He is also the first Chelsea player to win the award since it was introduced in 2019/20.

Chelsea’s €47 million investment has been worth every bit and more, considering how important Palmer has been for them this season. He has single-handedly decided several games throughout the season, and helped them up to sixth in the table.

Cole Palmer had shown signs of his quality in cameos with Manchester City over the past few seasons. But, Pep Guardiola was unable to give him regular game time over his other options. After moving to Chelsea and becoming an important player in the starting line-up, he has been a massive revealtion in the Premier League.
