Cody Gakpo is one of the targets for Manchester United this transfer window, as an alternative to Antony. The Brazilian is pushing for a move to Old Trafford, although Ajax are not willing to sell the player this late in the transfer window.

The PSV Eindhoven forward has the [same agents as Erik Ten Hag,](https://twitter.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1561617668251213824?s=20&t=lGQT_sNNhYJGEUPcd7crAQ)and is open to a move to United in case they submit a bid for him. He is highly rated among the top Premier League clubs, and Arsenal were previously interested in signing him. However, a move did not go through for him as of yet.

Antony remains the priority for Manchester United, but they have had an €80 million bid for him rejected. Despite that, they are planning to come back with an offer as high as €100 million for the winger.

This past weekend, the Brazilian was [not included in the squad](https://technosports.co.in/2022/08/22/the-latest-on-antony-to-man-utd-22-8/)for the game against Sparta Rotterdam either. He refused to train with the first team in the days leading up to the game as well, as a way of pressurising Ajax to sell him.

However, nothing has come to pass as of yet. Ajax have started talks with Hakim Ziyech as a potential replacement for the Brazilian if he leaves the club. However, Cody Gakpo remains a realistic option for United in case the deal for Antony does not work out.
