CMF Phone 1 launch has been confirmed, which has set high expectations in the mobile market. After being rumored initially as a Phone 2a budget alternative with speculation about Dimensity 7200 SoC for its specifications placing it very close to the original device in configuration.

The Upcoming CMF Phone 1

But, there have been certain whispers lately among the tech scene of something different. Now, the latest rumors suggest the CMF Phone 1 may pack the Dimensity 7300 SoC, something that contradicts previous expectations. The Dimensity 7300 succeeds the Dimensity 7050 over that anticipated future successor to the Dimensity 7200, which might suggest it performs roughly on the level of the Snapdragon 778G+ in the Nothing Phone (1).

The possibility that the Dimensity 7300 SoC be housed inside the Nothing Phone (1) cannot be ruled out entirely as a recent benchmark leak from the Oppo Reno 12 Pro hints at similar performance scores that we have already seen on the Nothing Phone (1), adding a hint of credibility to the SoC rumor, at least.

Along with the technical buzz, visual designer Rahul Janardhanan has conceptualized the CMF Phone 1 with a removable plastic back, and “Nothing Lock”, a feature of the CMF phone that should provide access to even more add-ons, giving an idea of how the device could actually be like in terms of looks and functionality.

The alleged specs of the CMF Phone 1 paint a nice portrait: expected to be a 6.67-inch 120Hz OLED display, a dual-camera system with a 50MP main sensor, and a 16MP front camera for those all-important selfies. Under the hood, it is speculated to boast 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM, accompanied by storage options ranging from 128GB to 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage. Additionally, users may have the option to expand memory via a microSD card slot, ensuring ample space for multimedia content and apps.

Powering the device is expected to be a robust 5000mAh battery, complemented by 33W fast charging capabilities—slightly lower than the Phone (2a)’s 45W support. With an anticipated starting price of USD 249 (approximately ₹20,785) for the 128GB variant, the CMF Phone 1 is poised to make its debut in July 2024, promising an enticing blend of performance and affordability in the competitive smartphone landscape.
