Aston Villa have wrapped up yet another signing to bolster their squad, with Clement Lenglet set to join them on loan from Barcelona. The Frenchman spent the last season on loan at Tottenham, but was unable to secure a permanent transfer to the London club.Â
Unai Emery’s side have now swooped in and completed a deal for the central defender. They have already signed Pau Torres to bolster their defence this summer and now have Lenglet as part of their squad.
Aston Villa sign Clement Lenglet on season-long loanÂ
The defender was not involved for Xavi’s side during the start of their campaign and has been frozen out of their squad. The medical for the transfer has been scheduled and should be completed within the coming day to finalise the transfer.
Lenglet has three years remaining on his deal with Barcelona, and with him out of the plans of the club, a permanent transfer will need to go through soon. But, it will be difficult considering the time he has left on his deal.
Aston Villa have bolstered their squad well as they look to participate in the Europa Conference League. They have added Youri Tielemans, Nicolo Zaniolo, Pau Torres and Moussa Diaby this summer. And now with Clement Lenglet, they have completed an impressive transfer window to prepare their squad for the new season.
