The defender will be extending his contract with the Catalonian side till 2027 before his exit. Moreover, Atletico will be covering the majority of his salary while he is on loan with them, offering Barca some respite on the financial front.

The 29-year-old spent this past season on loan at Aston Villa, helping them achieve a Champions League finish at the end. He played 25 games for the Midlands club, racking up over 2,000 minutes on the pitch.
And now, he will be looking towards a new chapter as he plays for Diego Simeone, who is renowned for being one of the best defensive managers in the business.
Atletico Madrid have already bolstered their squad by signing Robin Le Normand. And with an experienced option like Lenglet also among their ranks, they could be set for a strong season ahead.
