Before Duet sends a message, makes a payment, signs a document or deletes anything, it shows you exactly what it is about to do and waits for approval. A few things are off limits even with approval, including trading securities and moving money between accounts. ## How Anthropic Says It Is Keeping It Safe - **Credentials:** It follows the design used for Claude Managed Agents, so it never directly sees your passwords or sign-in tokens. - **Action checks:** Actions are vetted by the same auto mode classifier used for Claude Code. - **Prompt injection:** Defences against hidden instructions in emails or web pages come from Anthropic’s browser research. It is designed to refuse sharing the strictest tier of information, such as credit card numbers and government ID. Health and personal finance details go out only when you explicitly tell it to send them. - **Testing:** Red teams and an external firm penetration tested it, and it is covered by Anthropic’s bug bounty programme. These are the company’s own descriptions, and Anthropic says it will share more details in the coming days. Independent testing will show how well they hold up. ## Shopping and Payments Duet can buy things for your business using Stripe’s Link wallet. It confirms the item with you, Link asks you to approve the spend, and payment goes through a virtual card so your real card number isn’t shared. It can also use Shop Pay to check out at online stores. Sign-in through saved 1Password logins is listed as coming soon. ## Early Testers Anthropic shared feedback from small business owners with early access. A real estate broker said Duet caught a showing placed on the wrong day in her calendar. A restaurant owner with about 110 employees used it to work through invoices store by store. A brand strategist said it prepared a call brief and noticed the call fell right before her flight.
