Civilization VII 2025 Roadmap: New Leaders, Civilizations, Events, and More!
Expect more updates in March for the players. A new leader, Ada Lovelace, will be added, along with two new civilizations—Carthage and Great Britain. Four different Natural Wonders, such as the Bermuda Triangle or Mount Everest, are now to explore. The game developers are also introducing new events such as the Natural Wonder Battle and the Marvelous Mountains event alongside these updates.
Also, a new leader in the form of Simon Bolivar, as well as two new civilizations, Bulgaria and Nepal. These updates will be offered for free to all players, providing a new shake-up to the game before Paid DLC content is released.
Spanning from April to September, the “Right to Rule” update collection adds fresh content to the game, with two more leaders, four new civilizations as well as four World Wonders. New events and challenges will be available to players. In addition to these paid add-ons, Firaxis will also release a number of free updates, which will add additional events, challenges, and bug fixes. To polish the overall game experience, quality-of-life improvements will be made as well.
Civilization VI had a similar extensible model with its paid DLC expansions: Gathering Storm and Rise & Fall—in the roadmap above from October 2025 and beyond, in the “More to come” section. These DLCs are typically expensive, but they often go on sale, making them more affordable over time. With a year full of exciting updates and content, Civilization VII is shaping up to be an engaging and expansive strategy game.
