## Why Fans Are Buzzing

The first *City Hunter* film wasn’t just good — it was a global phenomenon. It spent three weeks at the top of Netflix’s global charts, clocking over **26.1 million views** by end of 2025. That kind of response made a sequel inevitable.

Netflix Japan’s Director of Live Action Creative, Shinichi Takahashi, put it perfectly: the team is truly delighted to bring fans the first-ever sequel to a Netflix film from Japan.

## City Hunter 2: Returning Cast & Crew

The gang is all back, and that’s exactly what fans wanted:

- **Ryohei Suzuki** — reprising his role as the legendary (and lovably goofy) Ryo Saeba
- **Misato Morita** — returning as the indomitable Kaori Makimura
- **Fumino Kimura** — back as sharp-eyed detective Saeko Nogami
- **Director Keiichiro Shiraki & Writer Junpei Yamaoka** — the creative duo behind the original

## What to Expect from the Sequel

The first film told the origin story of Ryo and Kaori. The sequel promises to deliver the *most quintessential* version of *City Hunter* yet — Ryohei Suzuki’s own words.

Even original manga creator **Tsukasa Hojo** visited the set and was deeply impressed by Suzuki’s physical transformation and the team’s passion. That’s a great sign.
