After the launch of the C3 Hatchback and C3 Aircross SUV Citroen has revealed its luxurious model, the Basalt Vision Coupe SUV. This new vehicle is set to compete against the Tata Curvv. Sharing the CMP platform as its predecessors the Basalt SUV is expected to have an extended wheelbase like the C3 Aircross and a sleek Coupe SUV design.
The All New Citroen Basalt Vision Coupe SUV
Built on the CMP architecture like its predecessors the Citroen Basalt Vision Coupe SUV is gearing up to challenge the Tata Curvv in the market. Positioned as an option compared to the C3 and C3 Aircross it incorporates sophisticated design elements that align with Citroen’s Indian lineup aesthetic.
At the front, the Citroen Basalt Vision displays a bonnet. Redesigned upper and lower air dam reminiscent of features seen on the C3 Aircross. The prominent grille covering an air dam is larger. Finished in black with a silver skid plate-like effect that enhances its muscular appearance. The projector headlight setup stands out with a chrome element that sets it apart from its predecessor, the C3 Aircross.
Moving to its side profile the Basalt Vision Coupe SUV showcases wheel arches painted in black with no visible door cladding or roof rails. The striking aspect is the sloping coupe roofline giving off a sporty and elegant vibe. The car is equipped with 5-spoke alloy wheels that perfectly match its look. At the rear, the Basalt Vision features a new Lamborghini-like spoiler design and wrap-around tail lights with LEDs. Despite its three-box design, the vehicle boasts a hatchback-style tailgate.
While interior details remain undisclosed, it is anticipated to feature similar elements as the C3 Aircross, possibly with additional features and equipment such as a horizontal screen with wireless connectivity, a fully digital TFT instrument console, auto climate control, and more. The Basalt Vision is expected to be powered by a 1.2L 3-cylinder turbocharged engine with a range of transmission options. The launch is anticipated later this year with prices expected to start below ₹10 lakhs.
