There are two methods for entering CID. The state police immediately promoted one. Following graduation, you must first join the police force before being posted, transferred, or promoted to the CID wing based on your performance history or level of seniority and the preferences of more senior officers. You need at least two years of experience as a uniformed officer before you may become a CID officer.

After that, you can request a transfer to the CID post, where you will receive training. You will be referred to as a Trainee Constable while in training. After completing the two years of training, you will be a fully qualified police officer.

Another option is to take the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) exam for the Indian Civil Services. Aspirants are advised to refer to the official UPSC website for complete details on the exam. The assessment comprises a written test, an interview, and a physical examination. A comprehensive comprehension of contemporary societal concerns is crucial for excelling in the interview.
