Chelsea are one step away from agreeing a transfer for RB Leipzig forward Christopher Nkunku. The two clubs have agreed on a fee in the region of €60 million, which has easier payment terms than just paying it straight up.
The agreement between the two clubs has been in place for a few months now. And the player has already completed his medical for the transfer in September 2022. Now, only the contracts need to be signed for the transfer to become finalised.
Christopher Nkunku to join Chelsea in a matter of time
A long-term contract has been agreed between Nkunku and Chelsea starting from June 2023. Which means that he will not be leaving the Bundesliga in the middle of the season. He will complete the 22/23 campaign with his current team before moving to West London.
Christopher Nkunku was expected to play in the 2022 World Cup for France. But, a training ground injury ruled him out for the tournament. He is currently recovering from his injury, and could miss some weeks after the end of the World Cup as well.
Chelsea have also been linked with Declan Rice, Endrick, Denzel Dumfries and Rafael Leao for the near future. And with Todd Boehly remaining the sporting director, it will be interesting to see which players end up moving to Stamford Bridge next.
