The Frenchman has had the best return of his career this season, playing a more advanced role for RB Leipzig. He has a chance to end the season by winning the club’s first major trophy, with the DFB Pokal final featuring Leipzig and Freiburg competing for the trophy.

The 24-year-old had a great performance in the Europa League as well, helping his team reach the semifinals before eventually bowing out against Rangers.

Due to his exceptional performance all year round, Christopher Nkunku was called up for his France national team debut during the March international break. He is now attracting interest from several top clubs across the continent, but Leipzig want to ensure that he stays for the coming years with a renewed contract.
