Lucien Favre has been announced as the new Nice head coach, while Christophe Galtier has been officially replaced. The former Lille manager will become the new head coach of Paris Saint-Germain in the coming days, with an agreement close to being completed.

Christophe Galtier will be replacing Mauricio Pochettino in the dugout, after two years under the Argentinian. The team failed to win the Ligue 1 title in Pochettino’s first season in charge. Galtier’s Lille were the ones to displace PSG at the top of the table, and now, he is set to take up the top job in France himself.

Christophe Galtier to be named new PSG coach following Nice dismissal

Lucien Favre managed Nice between 2016 and 2018 before moving to Borussia Dortmund. He has now been announced as the new manager of the club after spending almost two years without a job, and will be taking over his former club once more.

Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has rejected any rumours of Zinedine Zidane being contacted for the managerial role. The former Real Madrid boss has been out of a job since leaving the Spanish giants, and was linked with the PSG job. But, the board has trusted Galtier to be the man to take the club forward.

The official announcement confirming the appointment of their new head coach is expected in the coming days now that he has stepped down from his post at Nice.
