Paris Saint-Germain have announced the appointment of Christophe Galtier as their new head coach, following the dismissal of Mauricio Pochettino. The former Lille and Nice boss has signed a two-year contract with the Ligue 1 champions, and is now in charge of one of the best squads in Europe.
The appointment of Luis Campos as the new sporting director of the club was important in him making the decision to join PSG. The pair had worked together at Lille before, and won the Ligue 1 championship in 2020/21, before Galtier moved on to Nice.

Here is what Christophe Galtier had to say at his presentation as the new first team manager: “I am delighted to join Paris Saint-Germain, I would like to thank the chairman Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, Luis Campos and the club for their confidence in me. I am fully aware of the responsibilities involved to coach this extraordinary team, which is one of the most competitive and spectacular squads in Europe. I am delighted to work with all of these talented players as well as the top-level staff here at the club.”
There were rumours linking the club to Zinedine Zidane, who has been out of a job since leaving Real Madrid. But, there were never any contacts between the two parties, and now, any speculation has officially been put to rest.
