Inter Milan have announced that they will have to sell Christian Eriksen because he isn’t allowed to play in Italy. In Serie A, players who have cardiac issues are prohibited from competing. As a result, Eriksen is not eligible to play for the Nerazzurri anymore.

The midfielder collapsed on 12 June, in Denmark’s opening Euro fixture against Finland. The player had to be rushed to a medical facility in Copenhagen immediately. He was discharged several days later, with an ICD device installed.

🚨 NEW: Inter Milan have said that Christian Eriksen is not allowed to play in Italy this season following the cardiac arrest he suffered at Euro 2020.

The ICD is a device connected to the heart by wires. It sends electrical impulses to maintain the rhythm of the heartbeat. Eriksen had to be fitted with the defibrillator after he suffered a cardiac arrest on the pitch. Italy has managed to reduce the frequency of cardiac arrests in sports to one percent, as a result of their precautions.

According to the Daily Mail, Eriksen will be allowed to continue his career in England. That is, of course, if he is signed by another Premier League club. He will be subject to a thorough cardiac assessment if he returns to England. However, it is difficult to confirm the situation since his unique conditions are unknown.

The cardiologist associated with the team would have to clear the player first. Their decision would allow, or prohibit Eriksen from playing. The England FA conducts 1,500 cardiac screenings for players every year. So, any decision would have to keep in mind the player’s personal safety in mind.
