The computer world has a rich history and for many who doesn’t know, the actual age of processors began with the introduction of the Intel 4004 model. Since then many improvements have been carried forward in CPU technology. however, when it comes to GPU’s any significant development started at the end of the 20th century.

As we know that there are many processor museums in the world, however, now we are finally getting the world’s first GPU museum which is located in China. The memorial is the result of a collaboration between the Chinese GPU maker Colorful and NVIDIA.

According to recent announcements, the museum is located in Shenzhen’s New Generation Industrial Park, near Colorful’s new HQ. reports indicate that the GPU will have all sorts of cards and hardware equipment that date back to the ’80s. the GPUs even include console cards and PC motherboards to illustrate the differences between ISA, PCI, AGP, and PCIe slots.

It has been reported that Nvidia, has sponsored the whole thing. And the models of some iconic GPUs in history will be displayed in the museum. After all, Nvidia is the first company to coin the term GPU back in 1999 when it released the GeForce 256 model featuring a single-chip solution with integrated transform, lighting, triangle setup/clipping, and rendering engines.

According to sources, the green team will also be displaying its predecessors such as the NV1, Riva 128, TNT, and TNT2 models. All the cards appear to be sorted by year and also include milestone models from IBM, 3DLabs, S3, Trident, Intel, and pre-AMD ATI. The legendary 3Dfx receives a special treatment since Colorful’s first-ever AIB model featured the Voodoo 2 graphics accelerator back in 1999.

There will also be other attractions in the museum, as there will be a whole section dedicated to the Chinese e-sports history that was shaped by Colorful with the iGame sub-brand. Visitors can also try out advanced racing simulators based on cutting-edge GPUs hooked to triple-8K displays with full racing setups. All in all, it will be a worthwhile experience.
