China experiencing GPU prices hikes, thanks to shortages: up to 92 USD increase in a month

GPU prices have never been steady for months now and when we were thinking finally maybe you could see some price drop, MyDrivers has dropped a huge report. As we know, China is the home of GPU making and so the ongoing price changes of graphics cards in the domestic market already is raising concerns.

Now, a price hike in a month that too around 92 USD of the NVIDIA RTX 3070 Ti is really very concerning. The site had also predicted a 30% reduction of overall GPU shipment and a 50% lower shipment of the RTX 3060 series, so this could indeed affect the overall GPU market.

Here are the price hikes observed for a month in China:

ASUS:

Gigabyte

MSI

The site also reports that both GeForce RTX 2060 and GTX 1660 SUPER are rarely seen in the market while RTX 3070 is also very rare. As reflected even in our Indian market the shipments of RTX 3060 Ti and RTX 3060 are relatively better in China.

Though AMD supply seems to be steady, however, NVIDIA is having trouble keeping up with the huge demand, also the temporary closures of GPU assembly lines due to new COVID outbreaks in China could be one reason.
