Green Gold Animation, in partnership with EBG Group, has inaugurated India’s first Chhota Bheem Cafe in Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad. The establishment marks an expansion into experiential hospitality for Green Gold Animation, creators of the popular animated series “Chhota Bheem,” which has been broadcast for over two decades.

The cafe aims to provide a themed family destination that integrates dining with children’s activities and learning experiences. It draws inspiration from the fictional village of Dholakpur and its characters.

## Chhota Bheem Cafe: Focus on Nutrition and Experiential Learning

Designed as a children’s wellness hub, the cafe combines healthy food options with interactive play and educational activities. The initiative responds to broader concerns regarding child nutrition, citing recent NFHS-6 data which indicates that only 15.3% of children aged 6-23 months receive an adequate diet, an increase from 11% in NFHS-5.

To address these nutritional challenges, the cafe’s menu incorporates healthier versions of popular dishes, including millet-based pizzas and burgers, alongside themed items such as “Power Laddoos.” Beyond its physical location, the brand is also launching a healthy Bento Box subscription service for school children, offering balanced breakfast and lunch options via delivery and cafe outlets.

Rajiv Chilaka, Founder & CEO of Green Gold Animation ([https://greengoldanimation.com/](https://greengoldanimation.com/)), stated that the cafe provides a physical space for families to engage with characters from the series. Dr. Irfan Khan, Founder & Chairman of EBG Group, noted a market demand for family destinations that offer more than traditional dining, highlighting an opportunity to build a homegrown Indian family entertainment brand.

Among its offerings is the “Junior Chef Quest,” a supervised cooking program designed to foster creativity and teamwork in children. The brand plans to introduce a children’s membership program featuring rewards, workshops, and educational activities.

## Expansion Plans and Economic Impact

The Jubilee Hills outlet is the initial phase of a larger expansion strategy. Green Gold Animation and EBG Group plan to establish 25 Chhota Bheem Cafe centers in Tier 1 cities within the first year, backed by an investment of ₹50 crores. The long-term vision includes scaling to 50 outlets over the next three years through a combination of company-owned and franchise-led formats.

This expansion is projected to create over 500 direct and indirect jobs across operations, hospitality, and franchise support roles. Future iterations of the cafe are expected to incorporate new digital and interactive formats, workshops, storytelling sessions, and character meet-and-greets. The collaboration may also extend to other intellectual properties within Green Gold Animation’s portfolio, diversifying its character franchises beyond traditional media.
