Kerala Blasters came up to third in the ISL table with a 3-0 win over Kerala Blasters. Here are the three talking points from the one-sided scoreline:
Kerala Blasters continue remarkable run
After their 3-0 win over the reigning champions, Kerala Blasters have earned another one against Chennaiyin FC. Jorge Pereyra opened the scoring nine minutes into the game, and Sahal Samad scored his second goal in two games half an hour later.
Adrian Luna would complete the three goals and bury the game with ten minutes to go, scoring a right footed effort from the centre of the box.
Sour patch for Chennaiyin’s attack
Chennaiyin FC failed to register a single shot on target during the 90 minutes. After their 2-1 win against Odisha FC, the team now has another result against them.
Despite being called into action a number of times, Prabhsukhan Gill did not have to deal with a single effort in the frame. Being more clinical in front of goal will be one of the main concerns for Chennaiyin going ahead.
Top four race wide open
No one is safe when it comes to the top four race in the ISL. Hyderabad, Kerala Blasters, Chennaiyin FC, ATK Mohun Bagan, Jamshedpur and Odisha FC are all in contention for the remaining three spots alongside league leaders Mumbai City FC.
The remainder of the season will be very intense, considering that we are almost at the half-way point. Chennaiyin are in sixth place, tied on points with Hyderabad and ATK Mohun Bagan. Jamshedpur FC and Kerala Blasters are 2nd and 3rd with 12 points each.
