Chelsea have submitted an offer worth £15 million plus Marcos Alonso for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. The Barcelona striker has broadly agreed personal terms for a move back to London in the last 24 hours, and only the two clubs need to find an agreement for the deal to go through.

The 33-year-old does not have a problem returning to the Premier League. With Robert Lewandowski registered as Barcelona’s new number 9, it is likely that the Poland international will be starting the majority of the games.

Chelsea submit offer for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Barcelona need to offload Memphis Depay and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang before August 31 to register Jules Kounde. So, it is likely that they will accept the offer placed by Chelsea in the coming days to make room on the wage bill.

They view Aubameyang as too expensive to keep on the bench for the majority of the season. And if needed, Ferran Torres and Ansu Fati can cover as strikers in the absence of Lewandowski.

Marcos Alonso has been in talks with Barcelona over a move for a long time. And it now seems that he will be included in the deal with Aubameyang moving the other way. He has been replaced by Marc Cucurella at Chelsea. And regardless of whether or not Aubameyang is given permission to leave, it is likely that Alonso will play for Barcelona this season.
