Following the completion of his loan spell at Inter Milan under former manager Antonio Conte, Victor Moses has returned to his parent club, Chelsea. However, he is not part of Frank Lampard’s plans for the 20/21 season, at the very least.Â
The wing-back is supposed to be loaned out to Russian team Spartak Moscow for the full season. Though the transfer window is shut in England, it is still open in Russia and players can still depart their clubs.
According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, Spartak Moscow are the frontrunners in securing the wing-back’s sighature on a season long loan.
The Nigerian international wanted to rejoin Inter Milan in Serie A but the club are unwilling to extend his loan deal or sign him permanently. Which is understandable after the signing of Real Madrid youngster Achraf Hakimi this summer.
With the likes of Hakimi and Young already at the club, Moses would be down the pecking order for minutes despite a huge amount of fixtures to be played throughout the year.
According to sources, Inter did not make a bid for the Nigerian full-back due to the club owners not approving the move. Inter are stacked in options for the wing-back position and in all honesty, had no reason to make a bid for Moses anyway.Â
Things don’t look too good for him at Chelsea either, with James and Azpilicueta ahead of him in the competition for game time.
The deal is expected to be completed in the next few days, and the player will spend the entire season on loan in Russia.
It is a wise decision for both parties since Moses will be able to have a decent amount of minutes at Spartak whereas Chelsea will be able to cut out his wages from their payroll.Â
