Villarreal goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen is keen on joining Chelsea, with the Premier League club working on a deal to bring him over. The first bid worth €20 million has already been presented to the LaLiga side, and it seems only a matter of time before the move goes through.
Jorgensen has been with the Yellow Submarine since the youth level, joining them in 2015. He became the club’s first-choice this past season, keeping six clean sheets while conceding 66 goals in 38 games.

The Danish keeper might not have the best metrics when it comes to shot-stopping. But, that is not what Chelsea are looking at when it comes to signing him. They are instead looking at how good he is with the ball at his feet.
In 23/24, Filip Jorgensen had a very high short pass completion percentage. But, his accuracy while going long was below average. Since Enzo Maresca wants a goalkeeper who is comfortable building up play from the back, Jorgensen has emerged as a suitable profile.
However, he will join Djordje Petrovic, Robert Sanchez, Gabriel Slonina, Marcus Betinelli and Lucas Bergstrom as the senior team goalkeepers, which is already a crowded line-up.
