Romelu Lukaku

After winning the Champions League last season, Chelsea are now keen to strengthen their squad for the upcoming season. They are looking to add a new No 9 to their squad and was keen on Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland.

But Haaland’s move to Chelsea seems far from materialising so they are now hoping to sign their former player Lukaku. Romelu Lukaku has been in red hot form for Inter as he scored 24 goals in Serie A last season as Inter lift the trophy.

According to Corriere della Sera, Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is keen to bolster Thomas Tuchel’s side with a marquee centre-forward signing. He has sent his son to Italy to try and persuade Lukaku to return to London. Abramovich Jr is currently in Milan on a business trip, with the main aim believed to be sealing a deal for the Inter Milan star.

Chelsea have made a monstrous €130million (£110.6m) bid to sign Romelu Lukaku as they ramp up their search for a No.9, according to reports in Italy.

However, Inter have confirmed that they will not sell Lukaku this summer and that the Belgian is happy in Italy at the moment. But it remains to be seen whether Inter can refuse the €130million offer.
