Chelsea have been linked with Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha for yet another transfer window. The Ivorian has been on the radar of the Blues for several years in the past, but no move has gone through for him.
With the Blues searching for a reinforcement in attack, they might finally cash in on him since he has one year remaining on his current deal. Nothing has been agreed as of yet, and the discussions are still in the initial stages. However, any deal for him will have to be wrapped up soon with deadline day approaching fast.
Chelsea looking to bolster attack late in the window with Wilfried Zaha
The player is open to the move, especially since it would allow him to play Champions League football. He is going to be 30 years old in a couple months, and will still have a few years left at the top level.
Over the years, Wilfried Zaha has emerged as Palace’s top attacker. And only now, Eberechi Eze has emerged as the heir to his place up front. Chelsea were interested in signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for the last few weeks, but they haven’t been able to agree a deal with Barcelona as things stand.
They have also had a £60 million offer for Everton’s Anthony Gordon rejected. As a result, a last ditch move for their rivals’ best player might be their only option at this stage.
