Fikayo Tomori, on loan at AC Milan from Chelsea, has impressed heavily at his new club. So much so that he has developed into a starter for the Rossoneri in recent times. His performances have been remarkable, and his good form is giving club captain Alessio Romagnoli tough competition for his place in the starting lineup.

While the general feeling is positive around having the English centre-back at the San Siro, it is not as concrete as to convince Milan to pay Chelsea to make the transfer permanent. The situation still stands as it was. Milan and Chelsea will have a meeting at the end of the season to determine the future of Tomori.

The only way that the Serie A club will be able to keep him permanently is if they pay the €28 million that Chelsea have asked for while letting the player leave on loan during the January transfer window. The Blues are not willing to negotiate and will not budge on the asking price even if it means that Milan completely miss out on the chance to sign Tomori since Chelsea have the upper hand.

Moving to Stamford Bridge, Thiago Silva has been struck by injury and has been out for the last few Chelsea games. But that has not made the Blues any more defensively vulnerable. Silva’s presence at the back is an important one since he is a captain in his own right, despite not having the armband designated to him.

The general feeling is that Silva will extend his contract for another year with Chelsea despite being 36 years old, but showing no signs of slowing down whatsoever.
