It’s no secret that Frank Lampard isn’t doing amazingly with Chelsea right now. The Blues have only managed to secure four points from their last five games, from a possible 15. Their form away from home has not been the best either, with defeats to Everton, Wolves, and Arsenal coming in their last three fixtures on the road.

Speaking on the situation at Stamford Bridge, Fabrizio Romano and Francesco Romano clarified that Chelsea will continue to favour Frank Lampard as the manager of the first team on their Here We Go podcast.

There have been rumours and opinions flying around on the internet that have been calling for Chelsea to change managers. However, it must be considered that Chelsea have a lot of new players, who, more importantly are very young.

While the 42-year-old has a lot of quality at his disposal, he must be given time to get the best out of the players and really find the way that the team works the best. The first team has been frequently impacted with injuries which has prevented Lampard from bringing in consistency within the starting XI.

The general opinion, of course, is that Chelsea need to change on the pitch and to be back at the top of their game. They must get a few wins under their belt to ensure that they get back their confidence and find their stride. It is really difficult this season with new players and all, from other countries and youth players, the board know that time is required to get better but something needs to change on the pitch.

Thomas Tuchel has been rumoured to be on the list to replace Frank Lampard, but those rumours are indeed, false. Chelsea will have the chance to make their mark against Manchester City this Sunday in what will be one of the toughest games of the season for the Blues, considering City’s outstanding defensive record in their last few games.
