Chelsea and Leeds United have reached an agreement for the transfer of Raphinha, with a total package worth £60-65 million including add-ons offered for the Brazilian winger. The West London side moved very fast for the player, and have struck an agreement seemingly out of nowhere.
Arsenal were one of the favourites to sign him alongside Barcelona, but the Catalonians won’t be able to register him due to their financial constraints. Arsenal have been trying to revive their interest, whilst not being able to reach an agreement as of yet. But, they cannot match the offer that Chelsea have made to Leeds.
Raphinha to agree personal terms over transfer soon
With the two clubs in agreement, it is now up to the player to agree personal terms before the transfer can go through. Chelsea have sent an official proposal to their former player, and Raphinha’s agent, Deco.
In the coming hours, we should have a confirmation about the player’s decision so that the move can go through. The 25-year-old will be the first new signing of the Todd Boehly era for the men’s team, and will be a huge addition to the team considering his 1v1 skills and his ability to finish his chances.
In the last few hours, Chelsea have been linked with several other players like Kalidou Koulibaly and Matthijs De Ligt. They are also in talks with Manchester City for the signing of Raheem Sterling, and are set to offer their second bid for the England international.
