Cheick Doucoure has joined Crystal Palace from Ligue 1 side Lens on a permanent deal. The midfielder has become the third signing of the summer for Patrick Vieira, following the arrivals of winger Malcolm Ebiowei and goalkeeper Sam Johnstone.
The Premier League side will be paying a fee worth £18 million plus add-ons for the Mali international. He played 34 times for the French side as they earned a seventh placed finish in the table, and was an important factor in that success.

Eagles chairman Steve Parish said at the presentation of the player: “Cheick’s arrival is yet another statement of intent, demonstrating our ambition to further improve the squad this summer.
“We are extremely confident that Cheick Doucoure will adapt seamlessly to the rigours of the Premier League and that he will contribute positively to the squad, and I wish him all the very best for his time with us.”
The 22-year-old earned his first callup to the national team back in 2018 when he was only 18 years old. He is now set to feature in the best league in the world, which will only propel him forward. And with one or the best defensive midfielders in history as the manager, we can only expect good things from the youngster from his new challenge.
