## Key Details at a Glance

| Mode | What it does |
| --- | --- |
| Chat | Reads open tabs for context |
| Work | Sends messages, fills forms, downloads files, groups tabs |
| Interface | Sidebar, similar to Chrome’s built-in Gemini |

## What is new

The sidebar lets you use ChatGPT while browsing. In Work mode, the assistant acts on pages for you. OpenAI frames it as bringing computer use to anyone who uses Chrome, as relayed by an AI newsletter.

## What we don’t know

Pricing, plan requirements and the permission model were not stated in the coverage we reviewed. One outlet says the extension shows 7 million users on the Chrome Web Store, but we have not verified that on the store listing.

## Why it matters

Browser agents are the next battleground for AI assistants. Read about [ChatGPT](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ChatGPT) and our [OpenAI coverage](https://technosports.co.in/tag/openai/).

## What Is Not Confirmed

- Claims about user numbers and the shutdown of OpenAI’s Atlas browser come from a single aggregator and are unverified.
