Charmed is an American supernatural drama TV series. It is based on the WB series named Charmed by Constance M. Burge. It was developed by Jennie Synder Urman, Jessica O’Toole, and Amy Rardin. The series has 3 seasons which contain 59 episodes. It has a 40-43 minutes running time for each episode. It is produced by Poppy Productions, Reveal Entertainment, Still Married Productions, Propagate, CBS Studios, CBS Media Ventures. It was first aired on 14th October 2018. The second one was released on 11th October 2019. The third season of Charmed was premiered on 24th January 2021, it got delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Now the series gets renewed for its fourth installment.
The series basically revolves around the lives of three sisters named- Macy (Madeleine Mantock), Mel (Melonie Diaz), and Maggie (Sarah Jeffery) respectively. They suddenly discover themselves as the Charmed ones after the death of their mother. They are the most powerful trio of good witches who save innocent lives from demons and other dark forces.
The series has faced a lot of criticism from the old and new fans simultaneously but at the end of season 2, there was a significant jump in quality. After ending season 2 in an abrupt way, Charmed season 3 has finally aired on 24th January 2021 onwards, but when it will be aired on Netflix there arises a question.
When Charmed season 3 will be coming to Netflix US?
The first and second seasons both of Charmed have always come to Netflix in May but this time the case has completely got changed for the third instalment.
Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the CW was forced to postpone the production of Charmed, and also many other productions as well until it is safe to resume filming. This delay shows us that Charmed 3 would not have been premiered before January 2021.
It was heard that Charmed season 3 has 18 episodes, which is shorter than the first two seasons. That means we roughly now know when season 3 is due to wrap up on The CW.
That date is currently set for 16th July 2021. Usually, after 8 days from the release of the finale, the show comes to Netflix. But we don’t know whether this still applies or not for Charmed, it should drop in the last couple of weeks of July 2021. That was confirmed in late June 2021, with the release date set for 24th July 2021.
The date has come and gone but sadly, there was no Charmed season 3. It seems that the show has been delayed till 31st July 2021.
Whether the old cast members of the original Charmed series are returning or not?
There were constant rumors about the potential return of the original Charmed cast members flying around since the reboot was announced.
Actress Rose McGowan who starred as Paige has added more fuel to this as she admitted that she would like to return, the new cast members have also admitted that they would like to see the original “Charmed Ones” in action on their series as well.
There is no surety about it, but considering both parties have shown a keen interest, we can imagine it will eventually take place.
It is quite doubtful that the original cast members would become series regulars, but definitely, it would be fun to see them appear every now and again, acting as mentors to the new batch of Witches.
Is the Charmed reboot going to leave Netflix?
The fans should not be worried about it because as long as The CW continues to make more seasons of Charmed, the longer it will remain on Netflix.
After the series comes to an end, then only we can discuss when Charmed will leave Netflix.
