The Danish side defeated Erik Ten Hag’s men once more, after Marcus Rashford was shown a red card for a tackle which saw him step on an opponent’s foot. The red card was deemed harsh by Ten Hag after the game, but the decision stood after VAR checked it.

United have now registered the unwanted record of conceding a penalty in each of their four Champions League games, and were 2-0 up when they were reduced to 10. A heroic performance from the home side let them score two goals in the last 10 minutes to capitalise on the man advantage and earn all three points.

However, the Red Devils are bottom of their group and their hopes of qualifying look bleak, with Galatasaray and Bayern to follow.

Harry Kane scored yet another brace for Bayern Munich, extending their group stage winning run to 17 in the group stage, while staying unbeaten for 38 games. Bayern lost Jamal Musiala to an injury, and he is expected to miss their next game with a hamstring issue.

A late goal from Cedric Bakambu could have caused the Bavarians trouble, but they held on with ease to take all three points and qualify for the knockout stages.
