Champions League 23/24 Quarter Final Leg 1 Results
Atletico Madrid 2-1 Borussia Dortmund
The Rojiblancos have one foot in the semifinals of the Champions League this season, with their 2-1 win over Borussia Dortmund in the battle of the European underdogs. The fixture is by no means decided, but Diego Simeone’s men have the advantage heading into Germany for the return leg.
Rodrigo De Paul gave the home team the lead early in the game, scoring four minutes into the game before Samuel Lino doubled their lead near the half hour mark. Sebastian Haller came off the bench to score for Dortmund and keep his side alive in the tie. The black and yellow side came mighty close to scoring an equaliser through Julian Brandt’s header late in the game, but the ball came off the crossbar as the scoreline stayed intact.
PSG 2-3 Barcelona
Raphinha stole the show for Barcelona as he scored a brace at the Parc de Princes, with Andreas Christensen scoring the match winning goal. Kylian Mbappe was kept quiet by the Barcelona defence as they completed another Remontada against their French rivals.
Ousmane Dembele scored against his former side to give PSG the advantage in the tie, after Vitinha cancelled out Raphinha’s opening goal. Barcelona stepped up in the second half to take the advantage home next week.
