The eight teams of the Champions League Round of 16 have been confirmed, after the first night of matchday six. Most prominently, Manchester United were handed a 1-0 loss at Old Trafford as their European hopes ended dramatically. The Premier League club finished dead last in their group, being eliminated from continental football altogether.
On the other hand, Union Berlin had the chance to make it to the Europa League, but their hopes were ended by a late goal from Dani Ceballos, letting Real Madrid earn a 3-2 win against the Champions League debutants.

Sergio Ramos became the highest scoring defender in the history of the competition when he scored his penalty against Lens. The defender now has 17 goals in the competition, overtaking Gerard Pique who had 16 to his name.
Arsenal fielded a heavily rotated side, and Eddie Nketiah scored on his first start in the Champions League. However, PSV bounced back and scored through Yorbe Vertessen, as they finished second in their group behind the Gunners.
Galatasaray were handed a shocking defeat by FC Copenhagen, who earned a 1-0 win to make it to the Round of 16. The Turkish side will now be playing the Europa League playoffs to try and salvage their European ambitions.
