The new format of the Champions League got off to a strong start, as matches took place across Europe. Arguably the most eye-catching result was Bayern Munich smashing Dinamo Zagreb for nine goals while they responded with only two. This is the most number of goals scored in a UCL match, making the scoreline even more iconic.

On the other hand, Real Madrid picked up a 3-1 win over newcomers Stuttgart, while Liverpool won by the same scoreline over Milan while Juventus beat PSV earlier in the night.

Aston Villa also picked up a dominant win on their return to Champions League football for the first time in 41 years. The Villans have now got off to a good start and have a chance to finish in the qualifying spots for the knockout stages.
